Partial hydrolysis keeps 1588 tolerant of the ionic and non-ionic auxiliaries normally found in a finishing bath.
With sodium alginate it modifies print paste flow without changing colour yield.
For stiff finishes, add half the polymer, adjust pH, then add the rest — single-shot addition risks gel particles.
